Rules & Restrictions on Travel and Camping

PLEASE NOTE: Regardless of where you are travelling, it is important you check directly with any campsites you plan on booking on when they plan on opening and what facilities they will have open. Likewise, please make sure all your travel plans comply with government restrictions and guidance in that area.

April 12th is when self-catering accommodation without shared facilities in England can reopen. This includes self-contained campsites and caravan parks.

This means that from 12th April, whilst some campsites and caravan parks will reopen, they are unable to open communal areas like toilet blocks and showers open. As a result for all bookings made for dates between the 12th of April – 17th of May our Portable Toilet Kit will be included FREE of charge as standard. There is no need to add it on as an optional extra at checkout for bookings between these dates.

It’s also worth noting that campers will only be able to holiday with other members of their own household until the 17th of May at the earliest.

It is important you check directly with any campsites you are planning to book for when they will be open from and with what facilities.

From May 17th, campsites may open their shared facilities.

The ‘stay at home’ order in Wales lifted on March 27 , meaning holidaymakers can already travel and stay overnight in self-contained accommodation, including campsites and caravan parks.

But, due to ongoing restrictions across the rest of the UK, only Welsh residents will be able to take up this offer.

From the 12th of April, holiday makers from England and Scotland will also be able to travel into Wales to self contained campsites without shared facilities.

The Scottish Government’s ‘stay local’ order will remain in place until April 26 at the earliest.

It is expected that self-catered tourist accommodation will reopen on this date in line with rules on indoor gatherings.

Travelling outside the UK

Holidays abroad will be banned until 17 May at the earliest.
